The Engine of Transmission
The Phoenician script is almost Identical to the Hebrew script. It is a direct, simplified descendant of Egyptian hieroglyphic principles. Its 22 consonants became the template for nearly every major alphabet that followed. It was the ultimate portable tool of the merchant and the priest.
This script was the standardized tool for commerce and administration across the Mediterranean.
